The recent passing of Michael Jackson has caused me to dive headfirst into the nostalgia of my childhood, as he was my very first music/entertainment influence (and first big crush!). I know that he has been a great entertainment inspiration to many many people, but he was my first inspiration, and that's what makes his passing so inconceivably sad to me. I would also like to say that, despite the undeniable controversies in his personal life, he has positively impacted the entertainment world forever. This is how I choose to remember him.
That being said, I wanted to share with you all a piece of my childhood. For those of you that don't know, I grew up in Orlando, FL and had the requirement (er, privilege?) of going to Disney World on a frequent basis with my family. I regularly begged to go to Epcot just so we could see Michael's 3-D 'Captain EO' video short. (Before the luxury of the internet, I had to go through elaborate methods to watch the videos I loved.) However, now that Captain EO is long gone from Epcot, and I don't have to resort to manipulation, long lines, and profuse sweating, I can enjoy this beloved video from the comfort of my own home. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do!! Love you, Michael!
